So it’s the morning after and no doubt some England fans are in some sort of mourning.
Such is the hype nowadays around events like the World Cup.
Of course one simple explanation for the 1-1 draw is that the other team (well done USA) were actually quite good … they were certainly as good as the scoreline shows.
The other explanation is that football, like many other sports, has a mental as well as physical component.
So what should the Fabio Capello and England team do ahead of the next match?
More training?
Analysis of the other games?
Making the goalie’s gloves stickier?
No … they should get on to Amazon and order loads of copies of this great new book by Jo Simpson … They Thought It Was All Over. They Were Right!!
Note – it’s a great read for amateur and professional teams in any sport and loads of great advice for teams in business too!!

Clever marketing ploy and great to see something timely.
Yes – it’s a great example of how an author can write a book which is topical and relevant & of course it can be repurposed for many sporting events (the Olympics for example)
