Just before the Spring workshop this year, I recorded this interview with Steve Nobel of Alternatives.

We cover some eclectic concepts such as connecting with your future self who knows the words you have yet to write - and how to connect with the literary giants of the past.

If you are thinking of coming along on the next workshop, it will give you a good idea of what it's all about.

- apologies for the noise on the 'phone line.

You can also read the feedback from the attendees of the last two workshops here ... Alternative's Workshop Testimonials (http://www.thebookwright.com/2009/03/30/alternatives-workshop-testimonials/)

<itunes:summary>I work with many authors who prefer to dictate their books than write them on paper or type them up. I am sure that this is because they have a preference to the auditory side of their brains as opposed to the visual or kinesthetic.
For some this even manifests itself as a block that prevents them writing ... if this sounds like you then help is at hand ...
Many solutions exist for doing semi-automatic speech to text conversion but by far the best text to speech conversion system is another human being.

(http://thebookwright.wordpress.com/files/2009/06/wescribeitlogo.gif)I had just completed another successful Unleash the Book Inside workshop where at least two attendees expressed this preference and, as if by magic, fell across an excellent online transcription service called WeScribeit on Friday.

Like all these things, I like to test them myself before recommending them to my clients and I did so. What's a bit surprising and impressive is that it's Monday morning and I have the results of the tests back already - their service is stunning !!!!

AND THEY DO ENGLISH AS WELL AS AMERICAN !!!

I tested them out on an audio file with some tricky stuff in it which also uses hypnotic trance which is unfair on anyone trying to concentrate on a cognitive task ... have a look and listen for yourself to see if you are as impressed as I am

Here's the source audio file:

and here's the transcribed file (http://thebookwright.wordpress.com/files/2009/06/journeytoakashic.pdf)

Well, I for one am really impressed and their rates are as impressive as their turnaround
Thanks to Melody and the folks at WeScribeit (http://wescribeit.com/?a=F9901C4E-1372-5714-91FF7A47023BF3FB) for providing yet another excellent resource for authors everywhere.
With specialist MP3 recorders being so cheap and virtually ever new phone being able to record audio, this is a brilliant way to rapidly draft a book.

Or why not combine it with the audio note facility on iMindmap?

P.S. I should mention I found WeScribeit on Twitter - if you are a serious author and not on Twitter yet, you are missing out on a whole load of serendipitous contacts

<itunes:summary>This visualisation started life as one of the components of the Unleash the Book Inside workshop and home study course.
In the workshops, I found that the students started to get huge flashes of inspiration when I combined Mind Mapping with simple simple contemplative and meditative techniques.

This version of the visualisation is more generic such that you can use it on any Mind Map whether hand drawn or computer generated. Note though, if you do use software Mind Mapping, it's a good idea to use a print out first. This visualisation takes a Mind Map and embeds it into your cellular neurology such that two things start to happen.

Firstly, you commit it to memory much better.

Secondly that you become better at noticing coincidences and serendipities associated with elements on the map. For example, if your map contains your goals and ambitions for the year, you start to become luckier. If you are writing a book, you come across information and ideas that help you in ways that seem uncanny.

I do this before I do a talk. Firstly, I Mind Map the talk some days before and I seal it in my neurology at the time. Then just before I go into the event, I repeat the visualisation - works every time.

This visualisation is part of the MP3 Guided Visualisation Pack (http://www.thebookwright.com/home-study/visualisations/)</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>(http://www.thebookwright.com/assets/clockblue_150.png)Time is an illusion - it's a very good illusion but an illusion nonetheless.
We perceive time passing at different speeds and in my book, Blocks, and on my workshops, I teach how you can stretch time so you get 4 hours work, or more, done in just an hour.

The future you who is already a successful author exists as this diagram shows.

All you have to do to become that person is entangle yourself with them.

This audio visualisation is all about helping you achieve success as an author.

Once you decide to write your book, it instantaneously springs into existence but in the future. You then become entangled with it and drawn towards it.

You also get the 'future you' sends the words you haven't written yet back to the 'you in the Now' - in essence, you morphically resonate with yourself ...

This visualisation takes you on a journey to that future point in time and really strengthens the entangled linkage with your future self.

Your success a published author becomes sealed into your future timeline.
